Editorial policy
How articles on DescriptorHub are researched, written, cited and corrected.
Research comes before writing
No article starts from a blank page. For every topic we run a live web search, retrieve the full text of the most relevant sources, and write from that material. The sources used are listed at the foot of each article.
Synthesis, not rewriting
We do not reword single sources. Articles are built by combining several independent sources into an original structure and original sentences. Where sources disagree, we say so rather than picking one silently.
Facts and figures
Specific numbers, prices, dates and study results are only published when a source supports them, and the source is cited inline. Where we cannot verify a figure, we describe the situation qualitatively instead of guessing.
AI disclosure
Articles are drafted with the assistance of large language models, working from the research described above. Publication settings, category structure, editorial standards and corrections are controlled by a human operator. We would rather tell you this plainly than have you wonder.
What we will not publish
- Personal financial, medical or legal advice. We publish explainers, and we say when to consult a professional.
- Fabricated statistics, quotes or case studies.
- Rewritten copies of an article from another publication.
- Content written purely to rank, with nothing useful in it.
Corrections
Errors get fixed, and the updated date on the article changes when they are. Report one via the contact page.
